In Ireland’s green isle, where politics reign, The Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael remain, With Sinn Féin not far behind, Their witty words and clever mind,

But when it comes to making laws, They’re often stuck in endless flaws, For every vote they must debate, And then they seal their fate.

The Taoiseach leads with earnest grace, But sometimes gets a funny face, When asked about the nation’s debt, He’ll dance around and not quite address it.

The Dáil debates with fiery passion, But sometimes it’s just a fashion, For grandstanding and pontification, While the people’s needs go on vacation.

The parties vie for power day by day, Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael in bed and there they will stay , With Sinn Féin in the doorway about to make their play

Their plans for progress and reform, To bring the nation out of the storm, But in the Dáil, they often clash, In a game of power and cash.

The Taoiseach leads the nation’s charge, But sometimes he feels trapped and large, With the weight of the country on his shoulders, He works to keep the nation older and poorer

The Dáil debates with passion and might, But sometimes it’s just for show, not to fight, For the welfare of the people, who live and toil, While politicians play their own game and spoil.

But despite the flaws and funny ways, The people’s voice still have their say, For in Ireland’s green land, democracy thrive,

And the Irish people’s will always survive.
